An Update from our Mothers' Union Branch: Bags of Love

A member in the Liverpool Diocese was standing outside a junior school when she noticed lots of mums dropping off their little ones for their first day at school. Some were very emotional, and she remembered how she had felt. Wondering what she could do to help, the idea of ‘Bags of Love’ came about. St Matthew's Branch adopted this idea and for the last three years has been providing St Matthew's school with little bags with our love, given to the parent or guardian of every child starting school

This year we are also providing bags for St Luke’s school. At our last branch meeting in July, 90 bags were made up, all sealed with our love. Each bag contains a packet of tissues, a chocolate bar, a sachet of coffee, a letter and a prayer.

Our members really enjoyed the evening and hoped the love sent with the bags would be felt.
