This was our first meeting after the summer break and it was so nice to see everyone again!

As ever we began with our short act of worship, with Mavis in the chair and Val reading the lesson.

Margret read a email which she had received from Mary Sumner House, announcing the result of election for our new World Wide President. Her name is Kathleen Snow, and she will take up her office in January 2025. Kathleen's letter to Mothers' Union members can be read in full here. In addition, you can read about the Mothers' Union campaign to raise awareness of women's illiteracy here which was launched on International Literacy Day.

We had been due to have a speaker, but at the last minute she cancelled, so we played a game instead which was enjoyed by all. The meeting closed at 9 o’clock.

Our next meeting will be on the 8th of October in church.
